Frequently Asked Questions

There are just two requirements. First, you must be a boy or girl age 4 to 18. Second, you must come to camp with a desire to have a good time!

Campers with special dietary needs (lactose intolerant, celiac, vegetarian / Vegan, etc.) should notify us of the camper’s needs on the registration form and speak to your child’s monitor upon arrival so we can make sure that your child’s menu meets his or her needs.

Campers stay in the rooms in the 2 large residence buildings at camp, both of which are on-site within camp facilities. Campers are grouped by sex and age and placed into teams of 12 campers. Each team has its own room with 6 bunk beds. All floors of the residence buildings have large bathrooms for our campers.

Campers are grouped in teams of 12 boys or girls, with a monitor assigned to every team. Campus WOB also has a large team of Directors, Coordinators, Department Heads, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Teachers, Cheerleaders, Lifeguards and staff members, which makes for a final ratio of 1 WOB TEAM member for every 4 campers.

We publish pictures, videos and news every day on our social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vimeo). This year we will also broadcast a special and innovative program called the WOBLAND CHANNEL, which you can also follow on social media.

Campus WOB offers an on-site 24-hour medical service for campers. Should a medical emergency occur, campers will be taken to the Carlos de Haya Hospital (located just 5 minutes away from camp facilities) and will always be accompanied by a staff member. In such cases, our Family Attention Service would contact parents to inform them of the situation.

If you need your child to stay overnight at camp on the day prior to the official start date, you must send an e-mail to secretaria@campuswob.com and request this service. Campers can arrive starting at 6:30 p.m. and will always be accompanied by staff members. Dinner will be provided in the Dining Hall. This service has an additional cost of 45 €.

Day campers should arrive at camp between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. and should be picked up between 10:15 and 10:30 p.m. Please remember that check-in on the first day of camp is from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (we ask families to make sure to check in within this time frame, since after 12:30 camp activities will have started).

We do not recommend family visits during the week of camp, though visits can be arranged if necessary. Nonetheless, there are three times when we highly encourage parents and other family members to come to camp: firstly, on Day 1 of camp for check-in and for the Opening Ceremony (between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.); second, on the last night at camp for the Closing Ceremony (which starts at 10:00 p.m.); and finally, on the last day of camp for Departure (from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.).

Yes, Campus WOB has a Family Attention Service, with its own phone lines which are separate from the camp office lines. Phone numbers will be made available to parents prior to the start of camp through our web page, social media and by e-mail. You can also contact us by e-mail by writing a message to hola@campuswob.com from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or by Facebook, also from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Week 1 of Campus WOB officially ends on July 7th at 10:00 a.m. Week 2 ends on July 14th at the same time. Or if you wish, you can also take your child home the night before, after our closing ceremony. The closing ceremony is from 10:30 – 11:30 p.m.

Electronic devices are not allowed at camp, except for mobile phones – though we do not recommend them either. Campus WOB is not responsible for any loss, damage or theft of phones or any such items.

Mobile phones are allowed but are not needed. Participants may only use their mobile phones between lunch and snack time (3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.). Experience has shown us that when well-intentioned parents constantly call their children every day at camp, instead of helping it often interferes with their child’s integration in camp dynamics and heighten feelings of homesickness.

Children who immerse themselves fully at camp have a richer experience. They will have plenty of pictures, videos and unforgettable memories to share with their families when camp is over.

Campers are allowed to carry some pocket money to buy things at the camp snack bar and camp store. We highly recommend depositing 100% of any pocked money you bring in the camp bank, so it doesn’t get lost. Campers can withdraw money on a daily basis. Campus WOB can only be held responsible for a camper’s money while it is held in deposit, never after it has been withdrawn. On the last day of camp, any unused amounts will be returned to campers.

You will receive an e-mail welcoming your child to camp.

Campus WOB will refund camp fees to any campers who cancel their registration, for any reason, provided written notice is given by e-mail to secretaria@campuswob.com prior to May 15th, 2019. In all cases a 25€ management fee will be applied. Refunds will not be provided to campers who notify the camp of their decision not to attend after that date.
Campus WOB reserves the right to change the dates when camp will be held, should circumstances warranting such changes arise.
